Honey Joys are a delicious and simple spinoff from one of our favourite breakfast cereals – Corn Flakes. They are a crunchy treat that can be made easily at home at any time with just a few ingredients.
Honey Joys typically sit alongside Chocolate Crackles and Fairy Bread as a staple at childrenโs birthday parties, but they can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
To make the sweets, Corn Flakes are coated in a mixture of butter, sugar, and honey. This is then baked in the oven until golden brown and crispy. The result is a sweet snack that is irresistible.
As with Chocolate Crackles, Honey Joys have been popularized by Kelloggโs marketing the recipe on Corn Flakes boxes. In this case, we are increasing the amount of honey in the recipe to boost the taste and to make the Honey Joys stickier, so that they more easily hold together.
The can also be customized to suit individual tastes. Some people add nuts or dried fruit to the mixture for extra flavor and texture, while others add spices like cinnamon or ginger.
Choosing a quality honey will result in a better tasting Honey Joy.
